A heat exchanger is a device that transfers a portion of the heat from a hot fluid to a cold fluid, mainly used for cooling or heating. It is a universal equipment used in many industrial sectors such as chemical, petroleum, power, food, and others.
According to the principles and methods of heat exchange between cold and hot fluids, they can be basically divided into three categories: partition type, hybrid type, and thermal storage type. Heat exchangers can be divided into various materials such as metal heat exchangers, ceramic heat exchangers, and plastic heat exchangers.
Metal heat exchangers are classified according to their heat transfer principles:
1. Wall mounted heat exchangers: jacketed heat exchanger, immersed coil heat exchanger, tank spray heat exchanger, jacketed heat exchanger, plate heat exchanger, tube heat exchanger, double tube plate heat exchanger;
2. Hybrid heat exchangers: cooling tower (cooling tower), washing tower, jet heat exchanger, hybrid condenser;
3. Regenerative heat exchanger: a device that performs regenerative heat exchange. Embedded solid filling material for storing heat.
Heat exchangers are classified according to their internal structure:
Divided into tubular heat exchangers and non tubular heat exchangers.
Tube and tube heat exchangers are divided into fixed tube plate type, floating head type, U-shaped tube type, and packing type according to their structural characteristics.
Non tubular heat exchangers are divided into immersion type, sleeve type, spray type, plate type, spiral plate type, and heat pipe type.
Heat exchangers classified by purpose:
Heater: heats the fluid to the necessary temperature without causing any phase change during heating.
Preheater: Preheats the fluid to provide standard process parameters for subsequent operations.
Superheater: used to heat fluids to a temperature above boiling point, causing the fluid to evaporate, usually with a phase change.
Evaporator: Used to reheat the condensed liquid in the device and evaporate it.
Cooler: Used to cool fluids to a low temperature state below 0 ℃.
Condenser: Used to cool condensable gases, causing their fluids to condense and liquefy.
Full condenser: Condenses all condensable gases into liquid.
